Elsie Stormberg Week 4

This week at Iceberg Agency we presented our ideas for the semester long project to our fellow classmates, Prof. Rick Alloway and other professors in the journalism college. Overall, our presentation was received well by the audience but there were two glaringly obvious options for our project based on reactions. The two crowd favorites were Market to Market Relay and Macie’s Place. I feel that Market to Market interactively would be more fun to create because we plan to have an overview of the trail for the race and then pinpoints at each checkpoint with 360 video and interviews there. Along with the race there is also a costume aspect in which the winner of the costume contest gets to run for free at next year’s race. The only fault with that one is that it’s all in one day so we would have to plan out exactly what we wanted to do. The other option, Macie’s Place would not be difficult to do since there are several outer lying stories we could utilize to tell the story of Macie’s Place and how it helps the Lincoln Community. Overall, it was a successful week for the Iceberg Agency and hope for another successful week while planning out one of these stories.

Elsie Stormberg Week 3

This week at Iceberg Agency we spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas for our multimedia project. On our list of possible ideas we have everything from thrift shops and international internships to service animals and their humans. I think something that we will struggle with before we pitch our ideas is shaving off a few of our potential stories. Once we had a solid list, we decided who was going to research what and then we split off. When we meet before the pitches we will decide which two or three are our strongest and begin solidifying our presentation. We also discussed when we can make time to meet to go over what we want to present on Wednesday. Although we are all very busy but it seems as though everyone in the group is fairly flexible and willing to make whatever we need to do as a group work. I am very excited to work on this project because my group is full of very hard working, creative people and I think we really all know what we want to get out of this: a multimedia story we can utilize in our portfolios to show future employers.
